Cinder’s Story

Cinder is a lovely black domestic short-hair kitten.  She was born on the streets in Quebec last July with her brother; scavenging for food, starving and trying to survive for her first 6months of life. A kind lady spotted them hanging around and eventually was able to live trap them and brought them to the warmth of the shelter. She eventually made her way to us here in Ontario. 

Cinder is not ready yet to venture to her new forever home as she needs some time to come around, but she is ready to start the process of finding her perfect match. For having lived her whole life on the streets she doesn't show it; she doesn't hiss, doesn't swat, doesn't try to bite and doesn't even growl! She is just nervous and shy. She allows people to pick her up and hold her, she will try to get away to hide but eventually settles into the nook of your arm or shoulder. She so desperately wants to like humans and accept their touch but she just doesn't know how to do so at this point in time. Her eyes speak wonders and explain her tough life.

She needs someone who has lots of patience and understanding that it will take her time to start to learn to trust humans and bond with you. She is good with cats and would love if there was another cat in the home to take protection and guidance from. She has not been exposed to dogs but we believe a very calm easy going dog would be fine for her. Due to her nervousness she is best in a calm environment with no young kids. She is spayed, vaccinated twice and has her rabies shot, dewormed twice, given revolution, and microchipped.
