Cane’s Story

We think Cane's breed might be cane corso mastiff.  He is 9 months old, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.  

He is an exuberant, happy, sweet dog.  He's 90 lbs of pent up energy and needs a home that will provide on-going obedience training as he is a big, strong, happy boy that wants to play with enthusiasm.  

Cane's short life was one of cruelty and abuse.  He was seized by police as his owner tried to burn his testicles off with a lighter.  The injury was painful and infected but he has now recovered.  Everyone who meets Cane falls in love with him, he is such a happy boy!

His foster, who owns a kennel, doggie day care and dog training, says this about Cane:

"I honestly have nothing but good things to say about this dog. I haven’t seen any reactivity, aggression, resource guarding or bad behaviors other than general lack of obedience. I love, love, love him!! He is so smart and keen that I can’t see him needing more than 3-4 sessions to be on track in obedience and manners. I’d say the major issue is leash walking as he will pull. Hopefully this week we can work on that. 

He is sweet, cuddly, loving and he has never met a person he doesn’t like. He LOVES to run and play in our big yard. While he needs some exercise, he is not high energy and tuckers out quickly.  I think he would be suitable and thrive in a home with children. He’s been around my kids and loves them (however because he has no obedience he may be a hazard to small children until he’s trained (due to rambunctious behaviour/leaning on them etc.)
