Piper’s Story

Piper Update
We are convinced that there is a home out there for every Dane and Piper is in need of a very special home. Piper has been waiting for a while for that.
Piper is a spayed Dane/Mastiff cross. This little bundle of joy is almost 2 years old now.
Piper in in need a rural home with little to no company. She is best suited to be in a home with no other dogs but is great with cats. Children in the home is not recommended. It takes time for Piper to warm up to people so it is necessary for her to be muzzled when meeting people until she gets to know her company after a few visits.
Previous bio:
Piper will require ongoing help to overcome her fear of new people whom she doesn’t know. She has improved, but still tries to scare them away with ferocious barking if they come directly toward her. Now if they walk by her and ignore her she doesn’t feel threatened and won’t bark. She is getting better and will need people who are willing to continue this progress toward trust.
Piper is best suited in a home with no children.
“We are Piper’s foster family, and we have fallen in love with her. But we can’t be her forever family because we already have a house full of dogs. Piper is welcome to stay with us as long as necessary to find her perfect forever home. Piper goes to the barn to do chores and runs and swims with the other dogs. She doesn’t require a lot of exercise- just one good free run every day. She has never wandered off. When Piper came to us she needed leash training 101. She excelled and hasn’t been on leash since.
“Piper is gentle, loving and obedient. She has good house manners but will sometimes sneak on the downstairs couch. She has a soft mouth when given treats and she will eat alongside the other dogs with no fuss. Piper doesn’t bark too often, which we appreciate, having a house full of dogs.
“Piper is so happy and loving- we can’t help but love her!”
