ADDY’s Story
Addy was the beloved pet of a young friend of mine, Jen.
Jen’s situation went south when her husband began to become abusive. Jen had to leave him with her two small children, one of whom has a number of issues, and Addy.
When she left, Jen had to find a place to stay with her two children and Addy. I had room so she moved into an apartment in my (Jen’s friend) large home. However the ex lives and works in Manitoba and so Jen had to move out of my home in NW Ontario to a place in Winnipeg Manitoba or she could have lost her children. She looked, as did her parents and I looked too, for a pet friendly place to move to. There was not one and eventually she was forced to take an apartment which her dad has been paying for. Addy stayed on with me. Until then Addy had only ever been the one dog in the home and had Jen as her special person. After Jen left, Addy was sad and has found it difficult to share a person with other fur kids.
I am 74 and my husband at 87 has Parkinson’s and dementia and has finally had to move into LTC. I have two dogs of our own as well as three cats, and now I have to move from my large home in the country into a smaller place if / when I can find one, in the city where my husband is now living. I can no longer accommodate Addy under the circumstances, as I will be unable to take her with me to any place I move to as it will be a downsize and in a city where I will do well if I can accommodate my five fur kids.
ADDY has Special Needs!
Was always a one person dog Has had to be in a multi dog home and is not happy. Lost her own special person due to family problems. Has been living with her special person’s friend and her own dogs and cats and Addy is having a very hard time. She needs an active special person who can focus on Addy.
