About this Animal Rescue Group
SOBCR is a small Border Collie Rescue based north of Newmarket in York Region. All dogs available for adoption are assessed for a period of at least two weeks, spay/neutered, vaccinated and vetted prior to adoption. SOBCR takes in dogs from Ontario and Quebec only, and does not place dogs in homes outside of Ontario or generally more than 2 hours away from our base. Adopters have to be able to provide a securely fenced area for exercise, keep their dogs inside their home at night and when they are not home, and undertake to commit to building a bond using humane force free training methods. SOBCR does not usually place dogs in homes with children under 8 years of age as breed characteristics often include chasing, nipping, and other forms of behaviour control. While these behaviours can be modified with ongoing training and supervision, kids can be harder to train!
SOBCR has three dogs available for adoption at this time but is not presently taking in any more dogs. SOBCR does at times post Border Collies available for adoption at local Shelters and other reputable Rescue Organizations.
